How to get rid of Bad Breath and take care of your teeth and gums properly?

We all know the importance of having a healthy and sexy smile, and not having foul breath. Not only it is socially embarrassing to have foul breath or ugly teeth, but many times, it is a sign of bad health.

We all know we need to take good care of our teeth, brush our teeth twice a day, and floss the hard to reach places between our teeth once a day; and use a fluoride toothpaste along with antiseptic mouthwash.

However, according to holistic dentist Dr. Derek Golding, we might all be doing it wrong. And all those chemicals in mouthwash and toothpaste may be doing more harm than good.

The first problem with a normal toothbrush is how it is designed. The ordinary toothbrush is designed for a powerful four-finger grip, with a thumb rest. That kind of grip simply puts too much pressure while brushing the teeth, creating abrasion of the enamel, weakening the protective hard shell of the teeth.

Instead, a toothtapper is designed for a pencil-like three-finger grip. This is also how a dentist grips his tools. The grip is much more gentle and precise.

The problem with abrasion is made worse with the ordinary toothpaste. Most toothpaste on the market contains too many abrasive particles. Studies found out most abrasive toothpaste in the market contain 10 to 30 times more abrasive particles than recommended medical guidelines. And that includes toothpaste that is designed for sensitive teeth.

Another problem is toxic chemicals in toothpaste and mouthwash. If you read the warning labels carefully, you are not supposed to swallow toothpaste or mouthwash. And if you do swallow a large amount, you need to call the poison control center, to get proper treatment.

What if you don’t swallow it, just spit it out? Maybe those toxic chemicals are necessary against harmful bacteria in the mouth? That’s wrong too. The problem with antibacterial chemicals in the toothpaste and mouthwash is, they kill all the bacteria in the mouth, both beneficial and harmful.

The problem with that approach is two-fold. First, because of all the dead microorganisms in the mouth, dental plaque starts to form much faster. Studies show it takes 6 hours for plaque to form after brushing teeth, but only one hour after mouthwash. Second, in the absence of beneficial bacteria, harmful bacteria and yeast start growing faster. Beneficial bacteria have a function to function to fight against harmful microorganisms.

Tooth tapping instead uses saliva, nature’s mouthwash, and requires no toothpaste or mouthwash. The plaque is cleaned up with the capillary action of the bristles of the toothtapper. It works just like how the paint sticks to a paintbrush.

In addition to being healthier, it is also more practical and cheaper this way. You can use a toothtapper in a car, while watching tv, in the office, anywhere at any time.

However, if you like to whiten your teeth without abrasives, you can add toothtapping powder to the toothbrush. Or if you want to make sure your breath smells fresh and clean, you can spray some breathealer gel into your mouth. Both are totally made of natural ingredients, and safe to swallow. And they help beneficial bacteria in the mouth and contain minerals to help to remineralize the teeth.
